Ah, I think I see the problem - isn't that stripey thing supposed to be vertical, not horizontal? (Like the one above the inputbox)

This seems to be a bug in Qt's Cleanlooks theme. Nothing we seem to be able to do about that, unfortunately.
In newer versions of Qt, you could try if it's still around in QGtkStyle, which is supposedly Cleanlook's successor.
