Quassel client freezes when rapidly switching between chat buffers

Description
Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Quassel Client and connect to a Quassel Core.
2. Join several channels or open several chat buffers.
3. Rapidly switch between the buffers by clicking them repeatedly.
4. Continue switching for several seconds.
Expected behavior:
The client should remain responsive and switch between buffers normally.
Actual behavior:
The client may become temporarily unresponsive or freeze for several seconds.

Additional information:
This issue appears to be more noticeable when many buffers are open.

Hey there! I totally feel your pain with the Quassel 2048 freeze issue. I used to have that happen while juggling multiple channels during lively discussions—it was so annoying! Have you tried tweaking the buffer settings? Sometimes, lowering the refresh rate helps. Just a thought! But honestly, it’s crazy how such a simple action can cause such chaos in our workflow. Hope they fix this soon!
